The more things change, the more they stay the same...
It's been a while so here are a few of my new ("new" to me, anyway) favorites in no particular order.
TV - New Girl. Probably the only show that currently makes me laugh out loud. The group of guys remind me so much of my friends and I when we were young and stupid. FYI - we're all still friends, just old and not-quite-so-stupid. I have an unexplainable love for the Prince episode.
Books -
Watership Down. My all-time favorite book. Epic in all the right ways. I re-read it every year.
Lord of the Rings/Silmarillion. My other all-time favorite. I re-read them every two or three years. Still affects me in ways I can't quite explain.
Best of Richard Matheson. Not a bad story to be found. One of them made me so uncomfortable my stomach actually hurt and that never happens (I'll let you guess which one it was.) I can't recommend this book highly enough!
The Plague Dogs. Makes you think about dogs in a whole different way. Even better than I remembered.
Music -
The Gaslight Anthem, Puddle's Pity Party, Postmodern Jukebox, Prince
Comics -
Not reading nearly as many new ones as I used to.
I really liked the first four or five TPBs of World's Finest by Waid/Mora.
I get the Brubaker/Phillips books as they come out.
Speaking of Brubaker, I just finished Friday by him, Martin, and Vicente. I'm probably not really the target audience but I enjoyed it.
Thought the Hulk/Thor: Banner of War from a couple years ago was a lot of fun.
I'm sure there are a few more that I'm not thinking of right now. I'll post them as I think of them.
